Chuckie Cheese Rocks!
Monday noon found us at Chuckie Cheese. With a coupon in hand, we purchased a large pizza, soft drinks, and 100 tokens - every one of which was used in the subsequent hours! Of course the children won the tickets which were redeemed for points which were cashed in for some GREAT prizes - a grasshopper, tiny rubber gun, a small puzzle, some small barrettes, etc.
T actually rode the horse more than A, but all of our pictures of him on the horse turned out blurred! These grandparents think Chuckie Cheese ROCKS!

Happy Birthday, Abigail!
Grandpa & I are sorry we can't be with you on your 5th birthday.
But we are thinking about you and planning to see you soon!
We thank God for you. You were our very FIRST granddaughter.
We rejoiced the day you were born and you have brought us much joy ever since.
We are thankful that you are learning to be obedient to your father and mother.
We are thankful for the way you share your toys with your brother and sister.
We are thankful that you have a healthy body and a good mind.
We are praying that you will always choose Jesus and His will.
Happy Birthday!
I hope you'll dance to the Happy Birthday song today!
ALL of you! Up and dance now!
Abigail comes from the Hebrew origin. In Hebrew The meaning of the name Abigail is: Father rejoiced, or father's joy. Gives joy. The intelligent, beautiful Abigail was Old Testament King David's third wife, described as 'good in discretion and beautiful in form.'

An Excerpt from Raising Godly Tomatoes
The degree of success you achieve will be directly related to how consistent you are. Don't get lazy. Don't give up. Don't make excuses. Don’t be “on again, off again” about training your children. Keep your children with you* and watch them, correcting all disobedience and bad attitudes. Say what you mean and mean what you say. Don't be afraid to set high standards and maintain them. Teach and train your children, then expect them to act in a godly manner. Require them to always act the way you would like them to act, and the way you believe God would like them to act, not the way others may let their children act. Be consistent in your training and in your expectations. (Taken directly from Raising Godly Tomatoes, chapter 3)

See especially: The Basics and Before, Starting Early, and Starting Late - all listed in the left side bar at the above site. I think she has some extremely valuable ideas here!

Grandma's Morning Exercise
Grandma started walking 30 minutes in the morning yesterday. Today I decided to do it a little earlier then yesterday. It was still dark when I walked out the front door. The birds were singing and there was a sliver of moon above the shed. I began by walking toward the bakery. It was open, but no one was there to buy donuts yet!

Wednesday I visited my friend. They raise a few chickens. I got to go out with her to watch her feed and water them and gather these eggs from their "nests"! I thought the hens were very beautiful. There was also a plain black one and a white one. Most were the gold color seen in the background. It was a fun experience.
